The Infection.
Its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, plain and simple. I can kill zombies, weave through hordes, converse munitions and conquer anything by myself. But, seemingly out of nowhere, I get infected. Every single time. And even if you take pills, they only DELAY it. Several minutes later, you`ll need more pills. And, considering the fact that you can have up to 8 players, and usually less than 10 bottles of pills a map; - Getting infected is game over.

That simple. The only true difficulty in the game is randomly getting infected, and getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over. I can understand bleeding and bandages, but you either need to LOWER the infection chance highly, or, at the VERY least, make pills more common and cure it for good.

Really, you should not punish good players with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like this.

Otherwise, I love the game! Please nerf the machete and buff the sledgehammer, though. Thanks!

Based on my experience, once I get infected / take pills once it does not return until zombies inflict more damage into me.

I think it adds to the difficulty and I find the suspense intoxicating, once my screen starts to black out and a quick last minute fruitless scramble to find more pills, I toss all my items to the remaining survivors and ask them to kill me or take a melee weapon to the horde and hack a path for my teammates so they can escape before I turn.

Pills delay the infection by 3 minutes. It takes 2 minutes to fully turn. So basically you have 4 minutes to do some good before you eventually turn. Thats the cold hard truth.

If pills instantly cured the disease, then the zombie apocolypse would have never happened.

I want magazines and ductape in the game to wrap my shove arm. Just some mitigation of infection chance for a limited number of attacks. not damage armor just infection CHANCE mitigatition say from normal% down to half normal% for 3 attacks.

The machete doesn't need an nerf. None of the weapons need a nerf, really; they all have drawbacks that are readily apparent when you try to push them beyond reasonable limits.

Infection exists and has the probability values it has because:

A) it fits the lore of the game
B) it maintains difficulty, even for highly seasoned veterans who would normally blaze through a similar game without it

The hard fact of the matter is that very good players are capable of speedrunning objective maps without being touched at all; they are the ones who typically achieve Pacifist and They Used to Be People, because they simply do not need to melee (and thus risk infection) to complete their objectives.

Infection generally happens when you get penned in by zombies and get tagged on the way out (i.e you've escaped but are at low enough health to be easily infected, or were being bitten and escaped). If your health is above 70-80, your risk of infection is fairly low. As you dip under 60, your risk of infection increases exponentially, to the point that it is extremely lucky to NOT get infected upon a scratch or bite by the time you hit 40 health.

If you do not want to be infected, keep a gun on you. Ranged attacks made from over 5 feet away have zero risk of infection, so you can use your melee for stragglers that you can easily charge-attack and then switch to your gun for when you're penned in to make a breach to escape through.

No,we want the game to be a punishment so we will keep it the way it is,that's the point of this game, difficulty and realism.

And also no,the machete is balanced, and the sledge is good enough, that thing is a one hit kill why would it need a buff?

It's easy to get a respawn to cleanse yourself of the infection on survival mode, in objective it just means you have to hurry the fudge up and complete the level, one or two pill bottles should be enough to beat an objective level.

The only thing i hate is when the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Runner'S can infect you
Thats total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Every zombie, but the children, can only infect a player through grabbing them. So as long as you keep moving in an effective way the zombies will never infect you.

Just...So that anyone reading this knows, I posted this is november 2013. AKA over half a year ago. The Machete was a one-hit killing, super light-weight weapon then, and zombies had a 100% chance to infect on hit, whether it was a glitch or not. You guys need to look at the dates things are made...

Uh, that's why you don't cleave through hoards?

Once you get bitten/damaged there is a chance to get infected u should be more carefull when playing. otherwise you get infected all the time.
