How to REBIND console key? (For sv_lan problem)
So since literally ZERO servers are playable even after refreshing and going down the entire list, I am trying to start a server.

Yet the universally standard console key (|) isn't working, and the "sometimes-devs-♥♥♥♥-up-and-use-'-instead-since-they-like-to-kick-european-keyboard-owners-in-the-shin" key isn't working either (') - so what do I do? I can't find any key bind for the console! The amount of thought put into this is a bit underwhelming.

Oh and I tried smashing every button on my keyboard, just FYI, console never showed up.

When you are in your games library, right click NMRiH > Properties > Set Launch Options > type -console in the bar and click OK. Now you will see the console when you startup the game. Bind "toggleconsole" to a key in case you close the console by accident.

Sorry to hear you have had an issue.

The console is activated with the ` or ~ keys on a standard US English keyboard. Being part of the source engine, the team wasn't responsible for the mapping.

As a user pointed out above, you can launch the game with an option for the console to open automatically each and every time.

Welcome to the source engine. If you need anyother help with getting the console or commands to work or just need a list of commands I'd highly recommend checking out the source wiki. https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SDK_Docs It'll save you some time and effort hopefully.

I decided to go with a dedicated server process. I've got everything set up, just can't figure out how to launch it. In the Wiki it says at the end: "Now you should be able to navigate to the srcds.exe file and use: srcds.exe -console -game nmrih +map nms_deadend"

1. Regular DoS-type commands don't seem to be working if they mean navigate WITHIN steamcmd.

2. If they mean navigat in WINDOWS, there doesn't seem to be a custom modifier field on the .exe properties in Windows 8... Clicking the .exe just fizzles, and I don't see how to add the commands anywhere.

Edit: thanks for the help by the way, the game seems good enough to make it work even though there are frustrations.

I wrote the instructions on the wiki. I will edit them to be more clear when it's up to it's normal state.

look for srcds then, it has a lambda logo like hl2.

Yeah I found the .exe, I just don't know how to launch it alongside those commands as in Windows 8, there seems to be no field for that in program properties. I guess I can try from a normal Windows command prompt?

Try this: http://www.srcds.com/db/engine.php?subaction=showfull&id=1097362093

Might explain it better. Being so busy, I can only spend so much time on each thread.
