Server Dedicated NMRIH
Hi,

I would like to know if some of you were able to create servers in both windows and linux and it did not have a problem?

Whatever your distribution or version of windows or linux

it should also function as any games that I have already installed without problem (killing floor, counter strike global offensive, tf2)

official forum game failed to help me on this problem and does not believe me.
I just want to know if works for other administrator of server,or if you have problems like me

The issue was that it was not described well enough for us to understand. The broken english is understandable, we simply could not understand the issue.

Was it with running the server, installing the required content, or something else?

The issues didn't add up. GlibC should be up to date on Debian systems.

Everyone else has been able to follow the instructions and set a server up.

let's say you're right and I'm wrong

please give me the details of your test?

on which distribution you have managed to work a nmrih server correctly?

I'll test it on a virtual machine (VMware) kind to see if it is my distribution problem

yes glibc is updated on my Debian Wheezy, yes I still have the same error message

I want to find a solution to this problem

And I want to work with you to resolve it. Obviously, I'll drop it since when I feel I need to since I'm doing this out of my own time.

I have tested the linux server build with the latest version of fedora. Community members on the forums use the latest version of Ubuntu with sourcemod and metamod:source.

As for the Windows side, I have formaly tested Server 2008, 2008 R2, and 2012. All work out of the box.

Most of the testing was done under a VM within VMware's product "Workstation" and ESXi. I also tested the local, physical versions as well.

It was a matter of grabbing the steamcmd program, extracting, running once, running it again, logging in, downloading the files, running the scrds_run with the correct paramaters.

I would then test the connectivity with my computer. Sometimes the firewall built into the OS was the issue. Windows based servers required me to add an exception to the "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security". The exception was port 27015 UDP outbound and inbound.

Fedora was a pain, since it's experiemental (to put it in a nice way). Managed to get the server running and working after an hour of tinkering and reading.

As for the Ubuntu based ones, not sure. I would presume a VPS environment, but you would have to ask them.
I have a functional dedicatd server here in my region (South America).
Is running in Windows, and was all day full of people.
I only follow the instructions in the Wiki+Grab some server.cfg from the forum.
The only issue im having is a server crash with some of the survival maps (only survival maps), the official ones.
That and Rcon + hlsw not working, i was told that its a problem of source sdk 2013 ant not the game itself.

thank you for all these very important details

last question, your fedora was on a 32 or 64-bit architecture?

I'll try also to see for ubuntu
I have also Vmware Workstation
I'll do my tests as soon as possible to see if I am not mistaken somewhere

thx again

very nice and thx for your answer

what is your command line used?

srcds.exe -console -game nmrih + map nms_deadend

right?
I finish testing under three different system on VMware Workstation

-Windows 2008 R2 64 Bits

-Fedora 19 32-Bits

-Ubuntu 13.04 64-Bits
screenshot: http://nsa34.casimages.com/img/2013/11/05/131105044111774593.jpg

its works, without no problem on the 3 systems
except on a Fedora 64 bits, gave me the same error as my Debian Wheezy

after some research I've done
it turns out that GLIBC 2.15'll never be on Debian

Debian Squeeze (stable old, still in security holder until next year) HAS glibc 2.11.
Debian Wheezy (stable, just out this year) HAS glibc 2.13
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (EOL April 2015) HAS glibc 2.11
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS All which HAS glibc 2.15

I guess you can not switch on a kernel that supports earlier versions?

i can't change my Debian, because i have servers with other games on my server dedicated

it is all possible that its not working with other linux distribution

if this is impossible for fixed this problem,I can not host servers nmrih
this is sad...
User Windows Server 2008 64-bit.
Servers updated to the latest NMRIH and SDK!

I have had zero luck bringing my servers online since switching over to SteamCMD! I had four servers running for the past four months no issues but when I rebuilt the new ones they do not show in Steam server browser at all... sv_lan 0 has always been in the server.cfg and tried adding it to command line no worky... I also set the servers to insecure no luck either...
no error message at server startup?
me anyway it works for Windows 64 Bit
I have still no solution for my Debian ...

The roll out with the GlibC version I don't think was up to the team. I had discovered it by chance with CentOS. Only thing I can say is try and back the files up, or update the OS.
We'll probably look into dropping the GLIBC version requirement to something lower in the future, but for now 2.15 is required.

wow
thx you very much for your answer
if you can do this in the next update
it would be awesome all simlement
I understand that for now version 2.15 is requested
I'll wait as long as necessary
Can anyone please give me an example of a working Windows Server start command?? Maybe I am missing something since moving to SteamCMD or is it just the same commands??

srcds.exe -console -game nmrih -insecure +map nmo_chinatown
Do the servers have to be registered??? I am not having any luck at all with this...
