In defense of the child zombies.
To start off, the people complaining about the child zombies are pretty late to the party. This game has been available online for free for 2 years. If child zombies are such a big issue, where were you 2 years ago when your opinion might have mattered? You can't hop on post release and demand that a substantial gameplay element be removed "just because."

This game is meant to be as realistic, scary, and disgusting as a real zombie apocalypse would be. It is not meant to be a 10-16 year old's videogame based on a Halloween special from Cartoon Network. If you can't handle that, don't play. You have no right to impose your idiotic beliefs, formed out of a knee jerk reaction to seeing a digitized child zombie monster, on the rest of us.

Finally, good luck to all the people reporting this game to companies like ESRB. Seeing as how the game is unrated, free to play, and a mod, you're not going to get far. The ESRB is not a government organization and ratings are not required to publish a game. The only reason most games get rated is because major retailers (Walmart, etc) refuse to sell videogames that are not rated.

-Not to mention the child corpses in the game Killing Floor on the hospital level (in the nursery) have received no backlash, and many people continue to play that game.-

I find the game unique because ive never seen a child zombie in other games and its better because not only adults die.

Lol, as for me, I havent heard of game before Steam launch.

LoL so people find it normal to kill adults but get horrified when they need to shoot a kid. You are either ok with killing zombie human beings or not. Kid or not kid, that's just a detail.

Whats next, Protecting flies and mosquitos?

I had zero problems shooting the children necromorphs in dead space 2. They are trying to rip your face off after all.... And the babies want to explode you!

Death as soon as you enter deep water. The EPA is all over that!
Although I do understand that some people may be offended by this content, it's not something that was carelessly implemented in the game.

For me, it adds more realism and immersion, while not being overused, ridicularized or abused in any way. Child zombies are rare, scare the hibbie-jibbies out of most players (I find them very creepy), and they are also a bunch of polygons, textures and animations.

On a side note:

The Walking Dead TV Show and also its game also have well know scenes involving zombie kids, which reminds us that an event like this is not to be taken lightly and that everyone has to make tough decisions.

Did they get cancelled or get a huge hit on their popularity due to this?
No, it was the exact opposite.

To sum it up:

If it offends you, don't consume the product. Trying to force your opinions onto other people will get you nowhere, really.

This is the only point in your post I have to disagree with. As someone stated, a fair few newcomers didn't know that the game existed until Steam added it. I myself have had plenty of moments where I first hear about a game that looks right up my alley and it had been around for years, so that kind of reasoning is rather poor.

But yes, I agree in that there really isn't a sound case so far in defense of removing the child zombies.

I utterly agree, i have never seen a child zombie in a game before, and its good to have 'em.

You're defending points while not insulting anyone. I wish more people like you posted to these forums. :Light:

I could care less if there are child zombies, but if you want to get technical, children do not get sent to hell . They would most likely go to Purgatory. ;-)

or they knock on your door asking for candy... please remove them!
