Respawn Players via Console

How do you respawn a "fallen" teammate via the console? I know you can spawn zombies, guns and ammo but I have not seen the command for players.

These are player-hosted servers. As an admin of your own server, would you ban yourself?

Old Gregg is correct. I am simply creating a listen server for my friends and myself to play on. We would have one person acting like the AI director from L4D series. This person would spawn runners or children every now and then to make it more difficult. While we are working out this new gameplay, I just wanted to be able to respawn my friends after they die instead of having to restart the game.

afaik from reading the cvar and svar lists you cannot respawn, instead you need to use sourcemod and change some variables to allow more respawn tokens given and or the time limit / cap imposed on spawning during a live game.

ent_fire info_player_nmrih InputEnable; ent_fire info_player_nmrih InputRespawnPlayers; ent_fire info_player_nmrih InputDisable

should work on survival maps. On objective mode it's a bit more tricky as spawnpoints have a timeout.

ent_remove info_player_nmrih; ent_create info_player_nmrih; ent_fire info_player_nmrih InputRespawnPlayers

should respawn players at your location (host only)

ent_fire is cheats only. ent_fire is dangerous because if enabled on a public server anyone can hjack it via rcon. Also, the above output will respawn everyone. Not just one teammate like OP asked.

I actually wanted the console command to respawn a fallen teammate. Not teammates, thus a. Surprised this thread is getting comments over a year now. I noticed a grammatical error in my original post. See - Seen. Not a modification of the original posted question.

Yeah, that's what I was looking for too, a way to respawn a specified teammate.

You litterally asked how to respawn a teamate in NMRIH 10 years ago. It's better now than never!

So if you want to respawn only fallen player, I have found out this to work!


Allow cheat in the game, Type in the console : sv_cheats 1
and then: sv_respawn_allowed 1
and then type: sv_respawn_nearby_allowed 1

I just respawned my little brother and finally found the way to do it instead of restarting the whole game!

Also interesting to know, you can respawn players with guns sv_respawn_with_weapon 1
(I didn't try it tho)
