Did this game inspired from Resident Evil Outbreak?
I like this genre, especially when nmrh brings back old memories about resident evil outbreak. You know, in this time many Dev making sandbox zombie survival but nmrh is different, I hope I never bore. Keep it up your good work.

People in the community and on the dev team have drawn parallels and comparisons to REO but I've personally never actually played it

Okay I see. NMRH and REO both are fun, but NMRH still fresh and free :steamhappy:
I've never even heard of Resident Evil Outbreak, is it like NMRiH?

In the sense that it's a coop game where you share items, fight zombies and get to an objective. RE Outbreak plays much like the pre-RE4 games, with semi-fixed third-person cameras, tank controls, and a lot less ammo that you find in the surroundings. The infection system is similar to NMRiH with additional bites speeding up the infection. I don't think you could hurt infected players until after they turn into zombies. Reloading is agonizingly slow because ammo is inserted one-by-one for all firearms. Handguns are able to do a skillshot-type thing like in NMRiH. Melee weapons are effective but extremely fragile.

I had fun with my time with RE Outbreak, but I wouldn't play it today because loading times between rooms took minutes from the PS2 DVD. I heard the PS2 hard drive cut down the load time to under a minute, but that is still a lot of waiting.
I googled it and I recognise the boxart. I actually rented this game back when I was still in high school. Had the PS2 version and picked up the game from Blockbuster rental. Only rented it twice, couldn't get very far in it though... probably for all the reasons you listed lol.

With HDD PS2, just three heartbeat sound for loading times. You can use magazine for faster reloading.

Because loading times is real pain in the ass.

I made a quick look-up on this game when I was writing my own design.

1. Probably a better designed game than NMRiH 1 is (in terms of features and gameplay), but lacks alot from netcode and some stupidities/griefs.
2. Plays like pre-RE4 games... I think it is the best RE game of that era. Port it to something usable in terms of gameplay like Source 2013 and you get extremely rare case of "Good Zombie Game" like NMRiH is.
3. Additional attacks speed up infection in RE:O. You could grief literally anyone with doors if File1.
4. Game is notoriously bad for this. Especially since this is a MP game. However, by RE-designing this part, you could get astounishing results.
5. "Potshots". Kevin + Alyssa (weaker) has this ability. You could even "Roll potshots" to chain them, and that required alot of skill and practice but is remarkably strong option.
6. Even there, RE:O was much ahead of any zombie game we have. Think of it like Condemned but with zombies and zombie players.

Also, with emu, you can get ultra good result rn. And you can still play that game in MP.

P.S. Also, this game had so much stuff toned down for consoles.
