Its really cool, but lacks content. I would love more text, more detailed infos on how all the systems work and what the differences are compared to similiar systems on earth. I hope they will add more systems and more informations on topics like food production, material extraction and production and what it needs to get independend from earth step by step.

No microtransactions or lootbox system.

Intro: Early this year NASA's JPL wanted an interactive presentation that would portray what would be a future Martian base, which was delivered by the fine folks of Blackbird interactive (the ones who made the atmospherically involving Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak) which came to be the Project Eagle:

Now this presentation is here, on steam, for you to walk around, know a bit more, and gaze at the sight of what may be the first Martian base.

What it is: This is not a game, it is a presentation with limited interaction. You won't build your base, you won't expand it. This is an educational tool that was made available for the public.

What it looks like: It was build on unity with the same tech that powers the gorgeous Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak (I may be a wee bit biased in here, since DoK is my most played game on steam). It looks great and the details are quite amazing. In my opinion they nailed the atmosphere of a base made in another planet, and there are some good pieces of information on it.

If you're curious about space technology, about what are the core part of a base in another planet (without any terraforming being done), or just want to see what it looks like, you should give it a go.

Bad side: Sadly, it doesn't run in any machine, despite the requirements being low for today's standards, you still need a solid computer that is capable to run games in order to play it properly.

Very nice graphics and excellent ambient music. I really enjoyed checking out Project Eagle, even if it's quite short. And hey, what could be wrong about something that's free to play? Check it out!

Short, but an excellent and very atmospheric insight into what a future base on mars might look like

This "game" is fascinating, exploring an interactive Mars colony, designed by NASA and the folks behind "Homeworld: Deserts of Karhak".
All there is to do is to watch a small map with a day\night cycle and randomly moving vehicles... if space bar is pressed the screen goes to "Sensors Mode" and descriptions can be read by pointing the cursor at the buildings. Those descriptions are sterile and very very few in number, since most objects in the (Unity) scene are copypasted without much thought put into them: most stuff just hoovers above the martian ground, while the splendid photographic textures often break, leaving empty black triangles and stretched artifacts.
This is a missed opportunity, it would have required just more descriptions and a better thought-out map to be something special. I got all achievements in 43 minutes, and I'd say that it's a small project worth taking a look at for the premise more than the execution.

I absolutely love the fact that these interactive art demos are slowly showing up on Steam.
They're educative, simple, interesting and overall fun things to experience. Personally I learned a lot from Project Eagle and for that reason alone, I find it my obligation to recommend to you alll. Enjoy.

Project Eagle is not a game but a techdemo showcasing a base on Mars. We can zoom in at will (recommended for finding those 5 tiny, hidden astronauts) and see what's going on and we can even launch a shuttle into space. There is also a day and night cycle change and even a special mode that gives us a lot of information on the various buildings that make up this would-be base.

I wonder if Blackbird Interactive is planning to add any more content as what we have (all made thanks to Unity) looks very interesting and the game is also very pretty. At this point there's not much content to look at, but hey, it's completely free! Not just for sci-fi fans!

Project Eagle is not a game. It is though, an awesome prospect for the future of mankind!
