K9 companion

This may sound like a real ask, BUT how about a German Shepherd or a Belgian Malinois as a companion? Being a retired handler I would have taken my old Malie anywhere, a real land shark! Please....

Wouldn't work because you need to be sneaky around zombies and your dog will blow your cover. Also if your dog gets bit, can get infected but the survivors apparently are immune to getting infected.

I can't see a dog reinforcing the barricade while its leader goes exploring, or vice versa.

While this may be a good idea in a companion game where several people are going to explore, it doesn't seem to apply to this game in its current form.

Or else the animal should be added as a third "character", which would be useful as a defense against zombies to be able to explore with.

II like this idea! A detection canine companion would be an asset, whether it’s sniffing out hidden treasures or providing a warning for potential zombies.
