The Eternal Question: To play as Claude or Rena first?

Claude, just so I can grab all the mage characters. I think they'll be pretty good in this version. You'd still have front line fighter options with Ashton, Claude, Bowman. If mages prove to be trash in this version too, I'll probably grab Chisato over Noel. I should know by that point.

I beat the PS1 version with claude so I'm doing Rena and I think Dias would be a way cooler character to recruit than the mage kid.

I've played this game so many times, Gotten allmost all the endings, Truth first timers should play Claude. His quest line is a easy compainred to Rena, Why? Claude is a DPS where Rena is a healer. Also half way into the game Rena has a quest line where she leaves 90% of her team and has to go into a zone by her self. So she does reqire some grinding to get. But truth be told, To learn the full story you have to play both sides at least once, But end up playing both at least 10+ times if you have a guilde so you can get every mix of team, As they effect the endings.

This depends on exactly three questions: Do you want Dias, are you recruiting Ashton or Opera/Ernest, and how many Battle Suits do you want before the postgame?

Need Battle Suits? Claude can get the most, but Rena can still get 2--*if* she recruits Ernest. Claude gets 1 no matter who he recruits if he pickpockets someone on the Calnus. This is useful if you're going to recruit Ashton, because you need Ernest otherwise. You're stuck waiting until the postgame if you're Rena with Ashton.

Just want Dias? Well, it's Rena for you, but you may want to avoid Ashton. If you can wait until the postgame for Battle Suits, then enjoy your three swordsmen enemy blender team.

Are none of these a consideration? Claude, then. It's easier to take on everything when one of your best DPS characters is always going to be in the party.

Simple.

Have two playthroughs. One as Claude, the other as Rena. Recruit completely different characters for each playthrough. Best of both worlds.

The real question is who to play first. Probably gonna be Claude for me.

For example, for example when Rena is kidnapped, Claude kinda just shows up to save her, I feel his journey in locating her would have one explained how he got there & two established his swordplay skills.

Also it's kinda Isekai vs Fantasy?

I feel like I would relate more to Claude's storytelling because I can relate to him more.

I've played Claude twice before, and since I have forgotten 99% of the game, I'll pick Claude again. Perhaps Rena in the future.
