Cool. The graphics look a million times better, so a Hard Mode is all I need to say it's better than the original.
You're off your rocker with Front Mission though, the remake of Front Mission 1 looks absolutely horrendous, it's incredibly cheap 3D that looks significantly worse than the PSX or even SNES versions of the original, and they made zero improvements to the gameplay or story in a game that desperately needed it. Thankfully the FM2 remake already looks like it's getting more effort put into it.
I mean all the crap FF mobile ports, and the Pixel Remasters burned me because of the stutter causing my eyes to bleed. It's strange how an NES emulator runs FF3 a hell of a lot smoother than the PC versions. The Romancing Saga games had the same issues, terrible, lazy versions that were poorly optimized for PC from console. SaGa Frontier DOES look good though.
While I enjoyed the other Star Ocean games this in my opinion was the best of the best. I just hope they give it the justice it deserves.
I was the same way. I was buying up everything back then because I had my first high school job and 50% of my money went to JRPGs and 50% went to weed.
Beyond the Beyond is unfairly ripped on. I loved that game to death and used to beat it once a year just to piss off my friend who thought it was a trash game.
I went to Best Buy at least once or twice a week looking for RPGs. I visited Walmart and shops that sold used games as well. Managed to get Romance of the Three Kingdoms Pt. 2 brand spanking new from one that actually looked for games for you. Yeah, it cost extra but it was worth it if you really wanted a game badly.
