It was very cheaply made reusing a lot of assets from SO4. Still, I'd like to have it on Steam along with the others for a complete collection.

First departure R is not on steam which is silly. They got my money for the switch version though

I would prefer they port the whole series to steam, and all the dragon quest/warrior games. That is only up to square enix though. I also like the newer xenoblade chronicles trilogy on steam too. Again, up to square enix to listen to it's customers.

people rag on SO5 but it was the game that got me back into the series as 3 and 4 were not for me. it's nice and short and it fills a very important plot hole from SO3. PA's were also stupid simple to trigger. just enter and exit a map area and if there was one available it'd play it out. in town as well but also check the in for a circle. an incredibly accessible game. if people complained of the backtracking it's because they were combing the entire map every chance they had rather than play the game as the plot directed you as every time you had access to the ship you could teleport rather than trek the whole thing and play catch up.

4 was so incredibly tedious with the amount of items you had to grind for synthesis it honestly got frustrating fast.
1 and 2 might've been simple in comparison but that's what made them fun to begin with.
Sometimes you don't need 50 different intricate systems to carry a game.

I also think people are more likely to buy the game if they understand it.
