Its called Project Management. They know exactly where they are and where they should be.
Being 6 months behind is a concern.
But i love DCS so much. BBBRRRRRRRRRTTTTT
Anyway, if there will be a propper plane, the map will come as well, but currently we have 2 US planes (P-51D and P-47D), 2 UK planes (Mosquito FB VI and Spitfire LF Mk. IX) and 3 german planes (Fw 190 A-8, Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst and Fw 190 D-9 Dora). The only soviet plane I-16 is not in their category at all. So even in WW II environment, the soviet side have a huge disatvantage in this game. I can understand why Eagle dynamics can't create a modern Russian jet plane, but why they are not creating a high fidelity soviet proppeler planes? I guess that the info about them can be found in museums and archives and this info is not cassified. So why they are focusing on EU and US planes only?
I-16 by the way, don't have a propper map too, but I have seen videos on youtube where people flying it, some where flying over Caucasus, some where flying over Normandy 1944, so again, the map doesn't matter much.
One of the reasons why there are no WWII planes you mentioned is that nobody made them yet. DCS came to existence in 2008, since then passed full 13 years and ED released 7 WWII modules. With knowledge like that we could guess that developing another WWII module could take around 2 years (but usually more). Implementing everything you've just mentioned could take another ~13 years. Everything takes time and as a dev team you need to choose wisely on what to spend it.
Also, I-16 was made by 3rd party developer who's now seem to be working on La-7.
please remember our hub rules here and keep to the thread topic.

thank you
If you've been here long enough, you'll also remember that there wasn't a huge push for WWII until these past few years. It also makes sense since they started with modern aircraft, they continue to make modern aircraft. There are other sims that are WWII specific, but those WWII sims don't have a fraction of the systems offered in DCS. It's kind of cool that they would even put company time on WWII modules when they could be doing other cool stuff, like multithreading or getting in with Nvidia for that sweet sweet DLSS or RayTracing.
To pass the time, I'd recommend searching for mods of the aircraft you want. VSN has a bunch of stuff, but it won't be to the quality you're looking for. Maybe figure out the A-10 II, it probably flies just as fast. Or, if you wanna see how much time it would really take, try it yourself?
Sure, nobody wants to wait, but even the 3rd party devs who are completely separate teams, take years to bring a functioning module to Early Access. This is how the world works. You wait
If you want to try any high fidelity plane for free. Create an acoount on DCS site, download a standalone version of the game and you'll be able to try any module for free, during 14 days period. So you can actually check if this game is for you and if it is worth for you to buy these planes. But keep in mind, that this is not "Ace combat", "Warthunder", "World of warplanes", "ARMA3" or even "IL-2". The simulation level of military aircrafts in this game much higher than in any other game.
