F-15 top speed?
Reading online I see stats for the F-15C claiming a top speed of over Mach 2.5 (at high altitude), however in game I have noticed the top speed being around Mach 1.2ish with no weapons or external fuel tanks.

Does anyone have any data on this?

Is there a key I have to press for full military power?

I'm specifically referencing the F-15C specs on the wiki page, however I have read similar data on other sites. The Boeing page for the newer variants also brag about the Mach 2.5+ speed.

Thanks for your help, I love this game :)

Do check your altitude first:

* High altitude: Mach 2.5+ (1,650+ mph, 2,665+ km/h)
* Low altitude: Mach 1.2 (900 mph, 1,450 km/h)

Also "maximum" is not that simple to tell, is it continuous or short-term maximum etc.

What kind of speeds do you experience in game?
One thing to remember is the Mach is a measurement of the speed of sound in air, and that depends on alititude. Here's a table to get across what I mean:

Here's a screenshot of a F15C at about 40,000 feet at Mach 2.5 (just under).

A close up on the airspeed gauge:

To operate like that at those speeds requires a relatively light and clean aircraft, so loiter time is tiny and not that useful. Fun to go fast though. :D:

Hope that helps.

Thank you, that makes sense, I think I was just not reading my gauges correctly, I'll check it out again later and see it on my system. I have only been looking at the number on the hud which reads M1.25 or whatever.

Thank you!
Jack - is it ok if we don't delete this as I think it can help others in the future.. If you do want to though, no worries :D:
