They will review other model later.
But don't expect thing get better.
R27 has 10 shots in one fight, 0 hit RL record.
Amraam has near 50% kill chances RL record.
R77 much shorter and not very robust.
SD-10 is new red favorite weapon. But still does not match amraam.
Otherwise either both you miss or amraam gets you.
To put it short, it is just simply too small to fit the computing processing power and batteries to run such high PRF and anti clutter circuits that it would take on its own to achieve.
More then happy to write why I believe this without going into certain technology due to its security classification if you like. But it’ll probably be too big for these forums
LOL liked this one
1)"I see the missile incoming"
2)"I just release countermeasures"
3)"Threat evaded"
Than no, this is the wrong way to do that. This is the BS putted in heads by arcade games, space games, e.t.c....
You have to use all techiques to evade.
You think you can not get hepatitis because you are vaccinated? Really nothing is 100% reliable.
That might certainly be true at longer ranges. Another reason to be suspect when a missles range is advertised as “100 miles” or something. Max range is always a non manuevering target closing at max speed and lower altitude
But I doubt the AIM-120 runs out of battery power at 50-60% of its max range. Most AIM-120 kills in reality and in DCS (or my experience anyway) are between 10-30 miles.
The Aim-120 is battle tested. It has an excellent track record and there is no reason to think that it’s real world capabilities don’t reach its capabilities in DCS. I think a 50%PK at 10-20 miles is pretty accurate.
As for immunity to counter measures or jamming....lets be honest, no one here has the knowledge to discuss that competently. If they did, they wouldn’t be allowed to anyway
