Thanks - yes, I did that, and Device Manager in System>Hardware recognises it but when I launch the game, there's no option to use a controller, Xbox or otherwise.
Is there something I need to tick, somewhere? Maybe within Steam settings..?
Thanks again.
Do you have the official 360 controller driver for XP? If not you'll need to get it from the official site here: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/xbox-360-controller-for-windows
I'll keep fettling it...
Ta!
Or I heard of wireless adapters microsoft was selling for $40
I'll try it with a hard-wired controller instead.
Thank you.
If you want to use use a controller for noncontroller enabled games (most steam games are enabled) or just to surf the net, then I recommend xpadder, though some manuel configuration is required for the free version.
Thanks to all of you who answered. Really appreciated.:)
I heard they are supposed to work natively but some confirmation would be nice.
