Mod description: Requires:
Fallout 3 and ALL addons (might work w/o "The Pitt" or "Mothership Zeta", but not sure!)
Description:
This mod replaces all the creatures of type "mutated insects" with feral ghoul (glowing).
These ghoul are named "RAD-Ghouls" and have all their traits (incl. loot & combat style),
stats (incl. fixed base scale - size), animations, models and sounds replaced.
I did not change the type (they are still considered mutated insects), so the challanges to
kill them still work.
No changes were made to the scripts and level lists in general, but most "RAD-Ghouls" are
either lvl 1 or 9. I also left some unique names like "Fluffy" or "Jitters"
and did not change their lvls and made some high-level boss-enemies a little bigger and stronger,
so you can still tell apart "normal" "RAD-Ghouls" from "Boss" RAD-Ghouls.
Note:
The loot has also been replaced by what a normal feral ghoul would have instead, so you will have to use the console
or some vendors to get the original loot from the former insects. Sometimes their meat etc. can be found in some places.
This mod was made for me and others who hate Insects etc. and thus may ruin the fun for everyone
else since the "RAD-Ghouls" are weaker and are not really that lore-friendly...
Where are all the ants gone? And why are there so many zombies?
It is important to have this mod near the bottom of the load order in case it conflicts with other mods that alter creatures.
You don't want the mod to fail at the worst moment when you don't expect it.
Also:
I am rather new to modding and I might have made mistakes, so I'd like to see some
advise, or issues-related reports from others.
Feel free to post comments, images, etc.!
Known issues:
Some RAD_Ghouls might have a graphics-glitch that makes them look weird.
It affects usually the ones that are supposed to be already dead when found by players.
Examples: The two dead ones at the gates of Megaton
And for some people it might not work on an older save.
Credits: Bethesda Sofworks/Bethesda Game Studios for that awesome game!
