you installed it with steam yes?
did you run it with steam? or from it's folder?
have you tried running the main exe file?
I tried all three of those and it doesnt work :(

if you're running windows 7/8 make sure you set the exe's compatiabilty to win xp sp 3, no aero and no compisition and run with admin.

that should clear up some issue's
there is also a guide to get it working on the forum here.
In the files there is an application callet FalloutLauncher but i click it and nothing happens and i also clicked run as administrator and still nothing happens

Hmm let's try this..

May want to revert any thing you did to attempt to get the game working... may cause issues

In the Steam Client -- Library tab... right click Fallout 3 then choose Properties... then choose the Local Files tab...

See what happens when you "Backup Game Files..." then let that finish then Delete Local Game Content... then there should be something like reinstall from backup

What this should do is delete the game but have a complete back up where you don't have to redownload the game again

May want to delete or move the Fallout 3 .ini files and that are located in the My Documents\My Games\Fallout 3 and AppData\Local\Fallout 3 to the desktop or just again delete it... will re-create these files when fallout 3 starts up again... if it does but realize the folder in the MyGames contains the save files... that may be more important to move instead of deleting but anything else in there just delete

If that doesn't work try to do a verify intergrity scan which is in the Local Files tab for the Properties...

already tried to verify intergrity scan but i will try the other thing thanks
Didn't Work :(
I have Windows 8 :( i was so happy i finally got this game and now it doesnt work, thanks for trying though

So you managed to install the game from a backup and it failed? Then I suppose your OS or whatever is fudged up :P
