Well on PC you can get mods which can enhance the gameplay alot, but it requires some basic computer know-hows.

xbox.

i played on ps3 and pc and i am much more confortable on pc. gamepad aiming is too slow. of course these are personal preferences, it depends on your habit, but on pc you get better graphics and mods, and the game is not that difficult to require faster than light reflexes.

So basically go pc.

I would say PC, but with an Xbox controller as your gampad. that offers the best exp. in my opinion.

The keyboard and mouse are better then a controller but on what seems to be many computers including my own the game freezes. When I had this game on the PS3 and my friend had it on his xbox it was never this bad. I can't get out of the vault right now on the lowest graphic setting wih v sync turned off. I tried changing the program to running off of 2 cores on medium graphics but that didn't work either. When this game does work it's nice being able to aim well without VATS at longer ranges.

are you running win7 or 8?
because alot of people have been having similar problems on 8. I have it on 7 and it runs perfectly fine on mid-high settings.
I disagree with the keyboard and mouse argumernt, but I will conceed to the mouse offering a more acurate aim out of VATS. But the 360/ps3 controller puts all of the controls within a very comfortable range of each other making reaction times alittle better, at least for me.

windows 7 high settings

Stop reading these rare people and get it on PC, no need for gamepad or stuff like that, grab the GOTY edition, install some cool mods, enjoy yourself and don´t listen to console fanboys. (btw, this game isn´t an FPS, it´s a blend of RPG/shooter/adventure thing).
PC, because you can use console commands to debug your game OR have fun with NPC's.I use a controller on my PC because keyboard on fallout is hard.

PC version has more to offer
Butt ...
If you know your way around the file system and can do some really simple file editing you can use the Unoffical patch which brings the game to life with lots of missing content that was in the game but just didn't make it to the offical release .
I play it with a joypad on m bigscreen myself and it's a blast ..

And it works perfectly fine on my PC (Windows 7), no crashes in ~40 hours so far.

I agree but fallout not really a said FPS sure its in first person but its a rpg and not you basic run and gun shooter game. Not bashing you or anything hehe :)

I know, it's a blend of several genres, but if you don't use VATS, it still has shooting from first person perspective in real time. Gamepads absolutely suck for that.
but hopefully not for much longer..
If they ever make a joypad with a trackball as on the roght side it would end the problem.
You get a nie smooth framerate on pc

I've put considerable hours into the xbox version and quite a few into the pc version. Without a doubt the pc version is better. I would say I'm more of a console person due to the ease of use, but the recent switch to pc gaming is quite a lot better, and on the plus side you can just play with a gamepad and enjoy the comfort that comes with console gaming with the advantages of pc graphics and cheaper dlc.
