Broken Steel Bug
I've already had to fix one issue with this extremely buggy dlc (at first, I just didn't wake up and instead was greeted with the credits. I fixed this with the race fix on nexus.) but this one I can't seem to find a solution to. I'm on the first quest, "death from above", and Rothchild is being stupid. I already talked to him, and the objective remained at "speak to Rothchild", so when he guided me to the map, he doesn't say anything. He just says to take a look at the map. I"VE STARED AT THAT MAP FOR 5 MINUTES AND NOTHING'S HAPPENING!!!

I think you are supposed to talk to him after seeing the map.

That was the first thing I tried. He keeps on telling me to look at the damn map!

Press the ~ key (¬ on UK keyboards) to bring up the console. Enter "player.setstage xx000802 20" where xx is the load position of the Broken Steel DLC (without quotations). Assuming you have no mods and all the DLC this will be 03 (so you would enter "player.setstage 03000802 20" without quotations). This will skip the first part of the quest and let you move onto the second objective. Then press ~ (or ¬) again to exit the console.

Hope this helps :)

This fix was taken from the Fallout Wiki so if it doesn't work then blame them and not me :P

-Edit: Some people are saying theirs is 02 in the load order, so try "player.setstage 02000802 20" if 03 isn't working. Overall it depends on your specific load order.

Crap. I installed a few mods prior. A few I don't think should matter much, since they're just buildings, however there were a few files I installed manually. 2 of them were for making fallout work on windows 7/8, and the last one was for fixing broken steel (technically a mod, since it's not an official fix and I downloaded it via nexus (I didn't install this manually)).

disable or uninstall 'Fallout 3 Redesigned - Formerly Known as Project Beauty' Mod, it will solve the issue. after that you can enable the mod.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
