Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition

How to start Broken Steel?
I am at the very end of the main campaign for the game and I am at the part where you go into the purifier and turn it off and die and I know that I have to get Fawkes to turn it off but I cant seem to do that and I was wondering how I can get him to do that? Also, it would be really nice to know how to start the other DLCs as well.

You don't need Fawkes to turn it off. Look for instructions regarding this and other DLC's here.

Well, seeing as I am currently traelling with Fawkes, and I know for a fact that he is able to activate the purifier, I thought it would work, but whenever I ask him to do so, he gives me the same line that this is my destiny. Is there something really obvious that I might be missing?

If the Broken Steel add-on is installed before beginning Take it Back!, Fawkes will agree to enter the chamber,
Yes I understand that, but seeing as this is the GOTY edition and it has the Broken Steel DLC, I should be able to talk to Fawkes and ask him to go inside instead of myself or Sentinel Lyons

I can't find any bug issues that would glitch your ending choice. Do you have an earlier save to try again?
Yes, I can try that I suppose. Thanks

I had the same problem. The DLC with GOTY doesn't come automatically enabled, you have to go into Data Files on startup and enable it manually.

I was really annoyed when I found out because I'd played the whole game without having any idea how to get to the Pitt or Point lookout.
Thank you so much man. This is a lifesaver, because I was getting a bit mad at not being able to do or find any of the DLC for the game. Thanks again

You don't need fawkes to do it anyways... just go in there and do it yourself. You will survive anyway.
