transferring xbox360 saves to pc, GOTYE...
I apologize if this has been asked already, but is there any way to transfer my xbox 360 save file for Fallout 3 to the pc GOTYE? I know I've seen some stuff about transferring the xbox save file to my pc then opening it with a hex editor, finding the save title, editing it and adding ".fos" at the end; then opening the save file in Modio and renaming it using the edited save title.
However, my xbox360 save file ends with ".fxs" so the afore mentioned directions really didn't seem to apply. I just took the original save data file and changed the ".fxs" to ".fos" and dropped it in my save folder.
When I then open up FO3 on my pc, and go the Load menu, there seems to be an extra data file that's new, but looks blank, so I assume its the transferred file. But when I try to open it I just get a message saying something like the file version is outdated.
I bought the regular FO3 on Xbox first, then I got the Point Lookout DLC. My save file is from Point Lookout I then saw FO3 GOTYE with all the DLCs on Steam for $5 and it looked like a great deal, figuring that I wouldn't have to pay an extra $5 more for each DLC on Xbox360. The thing is, I'd like to use my previous save point and not I have to start all the way over from the beginning of FO3 to get to where my character is now....if anybody has advice, it would much be appreciated...

Converting a save from Xbox 360 to PC

1. Get your save from your HDD/MU onto your desktop.
2. Open the save in a hex editor. Scroll down until you see the name of your save on the right. For example:
S.a.v.e. .6.8.3. .-. .V.a.l.s.e.,. .E.n.g.i.n.e.e.r.i.n.g. .C.o.r.e.,. .0.1.5...3.1...5.4
3. Copy and paste the text into a text file, then get rid of all the extra stops and add .fos at the end. The above save would become:
Save 683 - Valse, Engineering Core, 015.31.54.fos
4. Highlight and copy your new filename.
5. Open your Xbox save in Modio. Go to the 'Contents' tab, and extract Savegame.dat to your desktop. Rename this file with the text you just copied.
6. Drop the new .fos file into your PC save folder, and you're good to go.

Thanks. Actually, turns out that I wasn't using Modio right. All I had to do was find the actual save file on it under 'Contents' which wasn't clear to me the first time, and then I extracted it to the desktop and renamed the file with the .fos intead of the .fxs extension. Everything else was the same. Worked like a charm.
But when I am able to load up the save file, it says something like the file is old and certain things will be missing when I play it, so I'm not sure what it means. So far, everything is playing like it was on the Xbox 360...
