Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition

Game keeps minimizing and won't reopen. Have to Taskmanager out
The game runs fine, and there's not really any crashes after doing all the tutorial stuff that's been laid out, however my game keeps minimizing itself into this thin black bar and won't let me reopen it (kind of similar to an alt-tab out except this just turns into a black bar with the window skeleton around it.

This is pretty much making the game unplayable since unless I save every 3 minutes, it'll keep doing it.

I have a good computer, specs are as follows

Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel core I7 CPU 1.73 GHz
8 GBs of RAM
64 bit operating system
AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000

I don't really use any firewall stuff or AVG. I'm open to any ideas?

Thanks

I'm having the same problem. It's really fraustrating, especially if you didn't get to an auto save point prior. :angry_creep:

Yeah I did half the steps in the guide. I did step 6 and it said that unoffical patch should automatically take care of it? Or should I just go ahead and do step 4 along with step 6?

I managed to run it on windowed mode and that fixed the problem but if I could get it to play in fullscreen that'd be nice.

Appreciate the help!

It might be antivirus that causes the problem. Or any ui overlay that appears in windows while you play the game.

This could happen also if you use multiple monitors.

I'm having the same issue. Game keeps minimizing every few minutes and the music keeps playing. The only thing I know to do now is completely uninstall and redo the steps in the guide.

I've done every step there. Still happens. It isn't a crash. The game just minimizes and can't be brought back up. Sound still plays and everything.

I think I solved it by using the fakefullscreen mod found on the Nexus. I'd give that a try if you haven't yet.
