Heavy Weapons Guy (Minigun + Power Armor) Need tips
Ok I got FO3 for PC after so many years. I've played on my PS3 and now I'm gonna for the master race experience lmao.

I decided to go full-heavy guy and I need some tips

S.P.E.C.I.A.L.
7 5 8 1 8 5 6

With Bobbleheads + Intensive Training

S.P.E.C.I.A.L.
9 6 10 1 9 1 6

My guy will focus on Big Guns, Melee and Repair. Or should I focus on Mecide instead of Melle / Repair? Also, is luck worth picking? I'm afraid that most Miniguns and Launchers don't get bonuses from Critical Hits and things alike.

The main skill is Big Guns, I want Melee just for fun and that Deathclaw-ish melee weapon.

Any tips? Should I change anything?

luck would be good for your melee, but not really for big guns.

Also remember you will reach level 30 pretty fast in GOTY, you might just redo your stats so that you can pick almost perfect at level 30 and get all 9's in stats then you'll have the rest of the game pretty much 10 in all stats and 100 in all skills. Basically any character of any build works for this with GOTY. You'll hit level 30 like 1/3rd of the way through the game.

5/6/5/1/10/7/6 is my basic build for any GOTY character. Get to level 30 and your suddenly at 9/9/9/9/10/9/9 then can start getting some bobbleheads you missed and still have 2/3rds of the game left to play with a character with all specials at 10 and all skills at 100. This basic build lets you raise up a few skills to max early in the game (level 10) and still be able to raise all the others to level 100 later on. The basic build lets you get nerves of steel, criticals, etc without needing special raises to do it.

This way by level 10 you'll probably be 80+ in big guns, repair and melee, unless you want to max lockpick and science early to open anything you run across, then level up big guns repair and melee.

Just an idea. On any character i play i max lockpick and science first so i can open any lock or hack any terminal i run across, then level up what ever character build i'm doing after that. Usually I'm level 30 even on normal mode by the time i've explored maybe 1/3rd of the map and did 1 dlc. That leaves 4 dlcs and 2/3rds of the map to play with a fully maxed character. Level 30 almost perfect perk is just that, an almost perfect perk.

always do 9 I at start of game so you get max skill points, thats 20 or 23 with the educated perk

after go to rivet city without levevling up

to get the bobble there then BANG 20 point per level (Helps you out alot)

There 1 gun i know that yeilds a good crit bonuses and is a big gun

Prescion Galting laser yeilds bonuses to crit ,also luck helps all your other stats for every 2 in it

Repair needed always, medicine i would suggest you have a good bit into it at least

Melee can be rather effective, but if you want a bonus to luck without intensive training i would go meds then help timebomb and big town

With GOTY no need for educated perk, or comprehension, the +200 points you get for the extra 10 levels is plenty. No need to do the 9 intelligence and go to rivet city early for intelligence bobblehead thats only useful in regular fallout 3 when level cap is 20. Start with 10 intelligence and you won't have to worry about that tricky go-to-get-bobblehead-early stuff.

Start with above stats. Raise lockpick and science up early so you can open anything, plus you get tons of experience by opening stuff/hacking. Bethesda ruins and vault 106 are very close to megaton and lets you get the lockpick/science bobbleheads early game to help max them fast. After those 2 are 95 (you have your +5 clothes remember) you can then raise what ever skills you want for that character, occasionally raising other skills. So with you melee, repair and heavy weapons. Don't really need to max them yet 70ish is fine, you still have bobbleheads to find plus books. Then once those 3 are 70ish you can work on other skills.

substitute skills for what ever build you want after raising lockpick/science and about 1/3rd of the way through the game and throw in a dlc you'll be level 30, almost maxed in skills (still tons of books and bobbleheads to find), many specials at +10 and a few special bobbleheads still to find to get them to 10. Really there is sooooo much to do in the GOTY you don't need to skimp on skills or specials or dance around with stuff unless your specifically roleplaying, just your basic build character, hitting level 30 maxing specials and stats, and then just use what ever items and tactics you want to do, your good in everything. In GOTY every character finishes exactly the same way doesn't matter your build or preferences, you can have 10 in all specials and 100 in every skill no matter what, its not hard its given to you on a platter.

techly it is still best to do the trick i said since you get ALOT MORE still

also it saves you trouble and lets you bypass GNR,and moraity if you like

going 10 in any skill at once is a waste (durning start) in fallout 3 due to the bobbles ,it best to go 9 int then 1 in another and go get the int bobble

You don't get a lot more doing the trick except in normal fallout 3. In GOTY its like 4 extra skill points and maybe 10 hps if you do endurance, which disappear once you hit level 30 and all specials are raised to 9. People stopped doing the rivet city trick when broken steel came out years ago and raised the level cap to 30.

On my current play through i've visited 23 areas, am level 15, have lockpick and science at 95+, and have explosive, repair, speech, unarmed, small guns, sneak and medicine at 50. Soon i'll be level 30 with close to maxed specials and stats, no need to do dumb rivet city tricks, or need lucky shades, or lucky 8 ball, or any other stat boosting item to lug around. I still have 120+ areas to visit, 5 dlc's to do, well you get the idea.

you kind of waste a Specal point when you go straight off 10

you get around 100+ more skill points doing the trick
