So I want to know what people think for The Pitt
I've honestly come to like it more then I remember. There's no real winner. Ashur may be a piece of work that should get throw into a dumpster. But dudes the only one holding the raiders from killing everyone there. Plus his work on getting his child to be a cure is a major boon to him. Him being EX-BoS means he's got more knowledge on the matter then any wastelander would.

With the slaves Wherner turns into a ♥♥♥♥ and basically becomes what he set out to destroy. You can probably talk him away from the ledge but the power is right there. They also will not be able to take care of the child the same way Ashur could, probably not be able to get a cure made and I don't want to imagine what lengths they'd go to, just to get a cure.

But I want to know what others think

Its not perfect, but it showed that Bethesda could actually write something competently. Sadly, they didn't repeat it for their next games, but oh well.

Definitely my favorite part of Fallout 3 along with Point Lookout. I used a hardcore mode like mod and finding all the steel ingots was a lot of fun for me as well. While it's not fully open world, there are a handful of places you can discover.

I also believe that child will not survive under slaver's care - this is enough for me to take Ashur's side.

I think this dlc is integrated quite well into the game with there being dialogue referring to it in the base game. Really adds to the immersion imo

I really like the Pitt's environment and backstory and I wish there was more to it rather than just one character and one level with respawning enemies. Instead, they made a trite story about slaves the main focus, as if that hasn't been done a quadrillion times before and after.

Ashur is pretty much indisputably the better choice from a gameplay perspective, since a slave victory renders the map empty and useless, so that completely negates any value the story had. And I would argue he is the good guy anyway, because he's the only one that can cure the illness that caused the slavery in the first place. Midea is literally just a hobo and Werner is a child kidnapper who is willing to release trogs on his own city just to defeat the raiders regardless of collateral damage.

So I would rank the Pitt fourth out of the five dlcs in terms of quality. It had a lot of potential but it was squandered.

Most people you put something morally gray in front of them and that's all it takes for them to be blown away and call it good writing. It's so easy I can't believe writers for game haven't figured it out.

Witness this thread.

Me? I'm annoyed I get bad karma for not giving a baby to that idiot Werner who calls it "the brat." and wants to experiment on it surrounded by Trogs.
