Unable to draw weapons/fist

So. Fresh install of Fallout 3 GOTYE, I'm unable to use weapons or my fists to punch things (Butch at the birthday party). My mouse is working, it's allowing me to turn and look around. Just having a problem with this.

Anyone else having a problem like this?

Running windows 7 x64bit (yes I know the game isn't meant for Win7)
No mods installed

verify the integrity of the games cache files and cross your fingers.
lots of us are on Win7.

This is a shot in the dark. In some games players have problems with mouse controls when they have a controller connected to their pc. If you have one unplug it.
Only other thing I can think of is, you didn't by any chance accidently re-map your L mouse button did you? I have done that when in key mappings to change a key map and accidently double clicked my L mouse button at the wrong time.

I've always played FO3 with win7 64bit with no troubles at all.

@R5CYA I tried that, aswell as remapping controls

@ronr42 same as above, don't have a controller though. Although the game started working (far as drawing weapons and fighting goes) after I got the BB gun. Still, it's annoying that it doesn't work before that point. No guarentee it may not bug out again after either.

usb keyboard? might be you need to swap stuff around in the usb ports if it happens again.

You're not supposed to be able to punch Butch at the birthday party. Did you play past this point (i.e. to when Dad gives you your birthday gift)?

Unless you cheat for weapons, You shouldn't be able to pull out you fist/weapons til after you get your birthday present and move on the next few years. sorry if I might've spoiled some of the beginning game
