Worth buying game of the year edition?
It's way expensivier then the normal fallout 3. What features does it add? Thank you in advance for taking the time to help.

It adds the expansion pack and all four DLC's. All of them contain new weapons and armor, new enemies, pretty much new everything. Plus, in the long run, buying the GOTY edition is less expensive than buying the basic version and then the other things one-by-one.

Why? I use windows 8 I have never had a problem with playing games on steam even games that are older then this. What difference does it make?

Ths game is neither optimized for windows 7 nor 8.
You need to make a few very simple fixes yourself to make it playable.
Read either the guide or some comments here on this forum (search bar is your friend).

Do not listen to him, he has no idea what he is talking about and he is mad because he did no research whatsoever.

I would say get the game. The GOTY edition adds every DLC to the game, instead of buying the main game and every dlc at once this should be cheaper overall.

yes

Yes, but remember to do those easy fixes for a game. And remember to check dlcs before playing

goty=totallyworthit/10 also win7 user here, dont listen to all the computer illiterate naysaying nincompoops who are too lazy and/or stupid the get it working. Much like the advice in the previous comments, be prepared to do a few small tweaks to make it playable.

I'm using 8.1 and having no issues with Fallout 3 after the simple fixes provided here on Steam. I haven't tried pursuing any DLC quests yet, so I don't know if there's any DLC-specific issues I should be aware of, but they add a lot of content. If you think you'll eventually buy the DLC anyway, I'd say it's worth it since it's cheaper than buying the game individually and then buying the DLC later.
Here for each DLC there is i'll tell you why in 5 words or less
Point Lookout:Hillbillys
The Pitt:Collect Iron just like Minecraft
Operation Anchorage:Winterized combat armor
Mothership Zeta:Everyone likes aliens
Brotherhood Of Steel:level cap and continue game.

Look at you, such a lazy-ass that doesn't bother to fix problems.
I'm using Windows 8.1 and it works just fine.

Will *probably* work under Windows 10.

Get the game, then do a clean install and perform the procedure from the following guide. If you absolutely can't get it to work, then get refund for the game.

the question is.. will it work? :GDHard:

I just installed it yesterday in W10 no problems or anything... I did not even use the fix...

I just run the exe launcher directly to the F03 folder with administer rights...

Running at ultra settings and been playing an hour w/o stutters,crashes...
