#4 should sort out the issue. Have a look through the guide and install the "UPDATED Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch".
I verified the integrity of the files...nothing.
the I started loading previous saves.
The crashing started as soon as I entered Grayditch area it appears (save the boy from the fire ants area).
I dont crash anymore.
I'll let you know if it crashes as I go back into Grayditch again from this previous save...
glad I make a lot of multiple saves as I go.
might have to just not do this questline and avoid Grayditch apparently.
FO3 is a great game....but older games on newer systems always seems to be a headache ;)
also, try going to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty (default path for game of the year edition) and right click Fallout3.exe then go to Properties and under the compatibility tab, try running it in Windows 7, or Windows Vista SP2, even Windows XP SP2
if you have any mods, try disabling them.
if none of these work, try deleting the installing and installing it fresh, but make sure you download the Games for Windows client
