Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition

Moving faster?
Just started the game and Ive quickly noticed that you're character can only run very short distances and with a game this large thats not a good thing. Doesnt help that he walks incredibly slow. Are there any quick ways to boost my movement speeds??

you either walk or run. caps lock determines which. If your sprinting then you have mods going and need to refer to the mods. In the normal game there are just 2 speeds.

If you want to move faster. type this into the console. ''setgs fmoverunmult'' then a number. The original number is 4 so if you put 5 after that then youll run a little bit faster. I Use ''setgs fmoverunmult 5.5''

You have holstered whatever weapon you have, right? Just like in Oblivion or Skyrim, having a weapon drawn slows down the character movement speed (whether it is walking or running).

Also be mindful of your armor. Anything you wear that is more than leather armor will slow you down somewhat. You will run faster in leather armor (like the modfied vault 101 armor or just typical leather armor) and your gun holstered than you will in power armor with your gauss weapon out. Or your fists.

If you wear clothing with an agility bonus, you'll go even faster. Just remember -- only draw out your weapon if you intend to deliver a smackdown. Put it away when traveling normally. It's the R button in case you forgot.

There is no sprinting that i am aware of -- even at 1 hp left, provided your legs are not crippled, you can maintain full run speed--but if you're at 1 hp and crippled, I suggest you put on the power armor at that point :)

And there's no limit to how far your character can run.

What it sounds like is you've added a mod that adds a 'sprint' function (which doesn't exist in the vanilla game) and *that* runs out after a while and you're seeing the normal 'run' as 'walking'.

well forget it now, just lost 7 hours of my time to a corrupt save file. Awesome game but these major issues (freezing, bad save files, lag spikes) have ruined it.

Mate, also stopped playing it around that, but recently got a Fallout thurst and thats the only game from the series I didnt play, found a guide on reddit, installed a bunch of mods (took some time to figure it out) and now it runs smoothely, vey pretty and in hi-res on 4K, very nice.

Cant say much about a game, was mostly entertained with mods installing, but started building meelee character and feeling that it is not enough speed after Cybepunk :D. So leather armour and agility help ... good to know
