Also be mindful of your armor. Anything you wear that is more than leather armor will slow you down somewhat. You will run faster in leather armor (like the modfied vault 101 armor or just typical leather armor) and your gun holstered than you will in power armor with your gauss weapon out. Or your fists.
If you wear clothing with an agility bonus, you'll go even faster. Just remember -- only draw out your weapon if you intend to deliver a smackdown. Put it away when traveling normally. It's the R button in case you forgot.
There is no sprinting that i am aware of -- even at 1 hp left, provided your legs are not crippled, you can maintain full run speed--but if you're at 1 hp and crippled, I suggest you put on the power armor at that point :)
What it sounds like is you've added a mod that adds a 'sprint' function (which doesn't exist in the vanilla game) and *that* runs out after a while and you're seeing the normal 'run' as 'walking'.
Cant say much about a game, was mostly entertained with mods installing, but started building meelee character and feeling that it is not enough speed after Cybepunk :D. So leather armour and agility help ... good to know
