Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition

Fallout 3 GOTY Issue With Enemies, Mods Installed
Here are the mods I have installed, as well as their load orders: http://prntscr.com/7lru8y / http://prntscr.com/7lrur8 / http://prntscr.com/7lrv3a .
The issue is once loaded up inside the game, if I encounter an enemy, inside the enemy there is a big red diamond shape, with an exclamation mark in the middle, of course marking that enemy is hostile. But then I saw one without this shape, and he was an enemy, name was Sam Warrick or something like that by the way. I first saw this when I was walking torwards a random church, one getting near the entrance of the church, 2 enemies would just pop in on the left side of the building, coming after me while this shape was inside their body. I did just to used VATS to kill them, but the VATS only detected what was being shown, which was the enemy's right leg, and their weapon, a Flamer. Of course this resulted in my death.

Have you toggled archive invalidate recently? I'd try that first. The red exclamation mark is because it's missing a texture, so you're next step if that doesn't clear it up would be to find out which mod is causing the problem by turning off your mods one by one until the issue is resolved.

Also, check out the mod "Paradox Ignition Presents the Mergers". You can get Fellout and MMM into single esps, which should help a bit with stability. Although you'll still need any bridge files like FWE+MMM etc.

Archive invalidation has always been toggled. Has does one just turn off mods, or just by that you mean uninstalling them? and by bridge files, you mean the blackened mod? and If I get these Paradox Ignition Presents the Mergers files, do I delete the files I already have of those being merged?

Are you using any type of mod manager? Both FOMM and Nexus Mod Manager have archive invalidated in the options at the top and you can toggle it on and off (it should always have a checkmark by it before launching the game). If you're using the stand alone program, you can just run it again. So the first thing I'd try is toggling it off and then back on again.

You can just uncheck the boxes for the mods. That'd be the quickest way to turn off a mod. A bridge file is anything that helps keep two or more mods from conflicting like FWE+EVE+MMM or any of the Blackened files.

For Paradox Ignition, you have to delete whatever esp is covered by the mod. For example, Paradox replaces Fellout with one singular file and covers all of these:

Fellout-Full.esp
Fellout-Anchorage.esp
Fellout-BrokenSteel.esp
Fellout-PointLookout.esp
Fellout-Zeta.esp

So you would delete these esps and use the one from Paradox instead.

Yeah, I'm using NMM, it's always been checked. So I would just uncheck the mods in the Plugins section of NMM? and thanks for covering the Paradox and bridge files questions.

Yes, uncheck archive invalidated and then check it again. Then try launching the game. If that doesn't get rid of the exclamation mark, then you can start deactivating mods, one by one, to see if that's what's causing the problem. And you do that by unchecking the mods in your mod manager.

Alright I'll do that, and by the way, I did uncheck a mod, CALIBRxMerchant to be exactly. Loaded in, said continue, and at the warning pop up message, it froze. So..yeah.

Then you can try to deactive all of your mods, and then enable them one by one. Or disable them one by one. I'd probably just deactivate them and then enable one by one if it were me. You'll just need to make sure Fallout3, Anchorage, ThePitt, BrokenSteel, PointLookout, and MothershipZeta are checked and the rest of your mods are unchecked. Start up the game and play around for a bit and see if there are any problems. If not, you can then quit, activate a mod, and then load up the game again. Repeat until you find the culprit.

Just be aware that you'll need to activate all relevant ESMs and ESPs. So if you were checking FWE, you'd need to load all of the necessary FWE ESPs, not just one. Also take note on the right side of NMM where it lists the required masters. That'll let you know what you need to activate when checking specific mods, which is very important to avoid instant crashes.

Finally, you can also check out Fallout 3 Edit which is a very nice program (which might be worthwhile to do first). It'll run and can give you a pretty good indication whether or not you've loaded a mod that is missing a master.

Ok I've disabled all the mods and left all the ones you said that need to be checked checked, and It crashes somewhere between the multiple loading screens..
Tried twice but it ^^^.

If you're running the default game + expansions, and the game is still crashing, you'll want to check the stickied thread at the top of this forum. Make sure you read all of it.

So I read it, and from what I read, which is all of it, the only thing I can see being a problem is Overwolf, which I do have installed.

Ok, I have uninstalled Overwolf, not a problem anymore.
but I found the culprit for the missing texture red exclamation!
Doing the thing you usually do as you told me, disable all the mods and just enable them all along with their addons one by one, it seems that once I started checking Mart's Mutant Mod stuff, the red exclamation thing came back. Here all the thing I have for MMM's stuff: http://prntscr.com/7m0fsc and one named Mart's Mutant Mod - Project Beauty.esp.
So now that I've found it, what do I do?

rip, had a save of around 30 hours, had to format my hdd, reinstalled all my mods and everything and the save got corrupted, all enemies i killed turned pink and i had those question marks, better just restart the game and make sure your pc is stable and you wont need to format in a long time

restarting the game will fix it, try it on your own before deleting your current saves, dont touch anything else, if restarting fixes it thats the way to go
