Does charisma affect prices?

Or only barter? I mean beside the fast that charisma gives a boost to barter skill.

So with 100 barter theres no difference if i have 1 chr or 10, right?

I think charisma affects 2 things in fallout 3.

1. skills that are based on charisma, such as barter. If you have 100 barter i think charisma does nothing for price adjustment. also increases speech.

2. npc disposition when passing speech checks. Passing speech checks with npcs is factored with 2 things, your SPEECH level AND your Charisma level. If you have 100 speech you still should see differences in many cases with having 1 charisma and 10. If you are trying to pass tough speech checks use items that boost charisma along with speech for better NPC disposition and easier speech checks.

Now I don't know if NPC disposition affects barter prices or only speech checks, never checked but i'm sure someone can find a post somewhere, or check in-game real quick.

There are discounts but I think they are computed independently from disposition. Anyway I guess there's too much money to count every cap :)

Barter is basically useless, im sat on 15k caps at level 20 nothing to spend on.

Well what i was getting at charisma is useless :> so need worry about it affecting barter since barter is equally as bad, speech is only good in fallout NV

well charisma would be useful if you couldn't simply save/reload speech checks, but since you can its useless hehe.
