Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition

Is Radio Galaxy broken forever on Windows 10?
Came back to Fallout 3 after many years (yes, after watching the TV show XD), and I've found that Radio Galaxy stutters everytime a new song is played. You can overcome it by pressing Esc a few times, and eventually it will play normally, until the next song, which is pretty annoying.

I've seen some threads in Reddit explaining solutions like increasing audio cache size, installing/uninstalling codecs with K-lite and some other stuff. Nothing worked.

Also tried to install the unofficial patch, but after going over installing this other pre-requisite, which has another pre-requisite, which has another pre-requisite, I eventually find one that won't install.

Before giving up and either deciding on not playing the game or pressing Esc a few times everytime a new song is played, is there anything that actually worked for you?

Thanks a lot in advance. It's so sad that such a great game won't work on a not that old OS version :(

https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Fallout_3 this is a really good website for fixing games, this is what should work for OP https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1363-dsoal/

if you are using an Intel integrated gpu worm_master https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/17209/ might help,

(I have not used these before I am just grabbing them from the wiki for you) as with anything on the internet, install at your own risk

Thanks, im aware of all the fix's, i never actually needed them, until i tried to play it today..

I'm useing AMD, and in the settings it correctly registers my card. I don't seem to have that particular issue. I suspect the answer is in the AMD software some-where.

Reading though the comments of the mod it also seems to work for discrete GPU's (AMD too) too so might be worth a try anyway :)

indeed it might, but that particular mod fix's the "misreading" of the graphics, that's not happening. Thanks though, i have no burning desire to play FO3, anyway, an if I do, u'll fix it then.

Should it? The text doesn't talk about anything related to Radio Galaxy songs being played with so many microcuts. Wrong link maybe?

I was replaying the game a few months ago and had the same issue. It seems like it only happens with Galaxy News Radio. Here is a somewhat fix I found at nexus mods. It fixes the stutter but every now and then the audio of the music will play fast for like a second or two and then go back to normal speed.
