Fallout 3 modded on steam deck
I had recently got fallout 3 running on my steamdeck along with the linux version of MO2. Fallout 3 just had an update and I tried downgrading the game again (the patcher said it was already downgraded) so I then tried to reinstall MO2. However when I ran the install.sh file it said it could not find the fallout 3 goty installation. I'm not sure why this is as it was able to find it just fine the first time I used it.

I think the fallout launcher got updated so maybe I need to overwrite it with the older version and that is why it cannot find it?

I think the mod organizer 2 needs to be updated. What was falloutlaunchersteam is now called fallout3launcher I think. So the references within the mod organizer 2 files and probably the exe itself need to be modified.

For some reason Bethesda decided to rename the launcher exe from FalloutLauncherSteam.exe to Fallout3Launcher.exe

The mod organiser Linux install script will probably be updated to handle the change in the next version, there is a patch here[github.com]

In the meantime you can use the script by manually editing line 2 of fallout3_goty.sh to read as follows :

game_executable="Fallout3Launcher.exe"

There's nothing Bethesda loves more than screwing over their fans with random crap like this. They're like an abusive spouse. For no discernable reason, you just earned another black eye.

It’s not letting me edit any script in the Konsole… I can only type underneath the Instal script. How do I edit the second line?

Just use this so you can bypass MO2 and use Vortex to mod your games directly.

https://github.com/pikdum/steam-deck

To get texture mods to work for Fo3, NV, and Fallout 4 will need to invalidate the Archive in your Game Folder and the Compdata folder.
