Report a translation problem
If you have the GOTY-Version or the Broken Steel Add-on, there is
a Perk at Level 22 called "Puppies". When you choose it, there will
be a basket full of puppies at the entrance of Vault 101 (your home).
From now on, you can get a new Dogmeat here, if the old one dies.
Personally I tend to just reset to my last save if Dogmeat dies (I feel it is about the same as if my PC died when I lose NPC followers). Early on it might be better to have Dogmeat wait at Vault 101 when you are going in to tougher areas like the DC core. Later at higher levels he will end up with a very large amount of HP and raely die in fights.
