i think it's in character for the lone wanderer to want both of them dead. considering there dad. died because of him. and the fact that they want to corrupt there mom and dads project for their sick goals. also if you choose the "i'm going to enjoy killing you" option. the enclave bastard taunts about there dads death. and also anna holt. sure you may lose good karma. but again there dad died. there family's lifes work is now being corrupted by the enclave. and it's really cute that anna doesn't think you have the balls to pull the trigger. when you've been pulling the trigger on raiders and super mutants aplenty even by the time project purity gets revived.

Autumn is a complicated case - because they cheated hard. As an Enclave 2nd in command, he's just a true blue believer. He could be useful. He doesn't want to kill everyone like President Commodore VIC20

But HOW did he survive the rad leak James caused to prevent them taking the Project Purity data, when 2 Enclave power armour-equipped goons succumbed to it too? LAZY.

How are we able to go back to the region again, much less the actual building, without ourselves dying?! LAZY. How can a sheet of glass or perspex block gamma radiation? LAZY!!! How can a chamber so irradiated that you die within seconds, not be irradiating all the water it's supposedly purifying? REALLY REALLY EFF'ING LAZY.

This is all Fallout games. Don't look too closely at the story. Take it for what it is, right now, no worry about arcs today or retcons tomorrow. LAZY STONER WRITING.

So in that respect, Autumn must die.

If they actually put more than a month into writing story before starting recording voice cast? Maybe it'd be different.

Not saying that Bethesda's writing isn't lazy, but if you look closely at the Colonel's animation during radiation leak, you could see that at some point he injects something into himself (Rad-X?). This might be the explanation of how he survived that leak.

Fallout 3 Rad-X: 25% resistance to radiation. Fallout 3 Enclave power armor + helmet+ PA training: 30% (or if they don't need PA training like the SoleSurvivor does, 25%)

They died and he lived not because of an animation sequence, but because the producer said so...

go ask Timothy Cain what HE thinks of this story arc and see how much profanity he spews about what they did with "his" Falout. :-) I know he regretted leaving interplay but when Fallout went 3d? He says he "liked it" - at least in public.

As I said before, I do not disagree with your points, all I'm saying is that they made an attempt (lazy one, as you said) to justify his survival, so it's not completely out of the blue.
