Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition

Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition

Steam Deck
Hello hello!

So, playing on my steam deck, at a random point, the game crashes, sometimes 5min in the game, sometimes 30min in a session.

Anyone else having this issue or know why?

Thanks for your time!

The game is known for those issues. It can be corrected on a PC but not sure about the steam deck. Can you make changes to the files in a steam deck, or is it a fixed download like a console? I'll ask my friend about his and if he has a suggestion I will let you know.

Hi again. I asked my friend and he showed me what to do so I will relate it to you and hopefully it will help.

Goto Power and switch to Desktop Mode.
This acts just like a PC and let's you add mods and do other stuff.
download this fix and update the 3 files in your game.

You can find your game folder in Desktop mode and place files in that location.
he showed me a game he has modded this way so hope that helps.
If you need me to ask him anything else lemme know

just played through the entire game and all it's DLC doing all the side quests on Steam Deck. Total play time is about 100 hours. Didn't install any fixes or mods. Just pure Vanilla experience. Make sure to save frequently because it crashes about 2 times out of 10 sessions. But other than that I had such blast playing it again since it's release back in '08. Back then I had a full on Desktop with a Core2Duo e8400 and an ATi 4870 1GB.
