Fallout 3 pc steam game crashes when i enter a building

hello, i need some serious help right after i have entered the smal house i get the fallout3.exe has stopped working error. i have mods installed, but i have allready tried to deactivate all of my mods and then run the game load my save but it still keeps crashing wtf?! this game is so ♥♥♥♥ed up. its not a suprise tho its 8 years old game so it has a loot of issues i know but wtf this is so annoying aaaarrrrggg!!! i hope some of you guys can help me. im stuck i have found no solution on the internet either so wtf do i do now??

Try the three fixes in this thread.

Number 3 works for most people.

Look for the FALLOUT.ini and open it
then find

bUseThreadedAI=0
change it to
bUseThreadedAI=1
Add this line after it
iNumHWThreads=2

also

Fallout3.exe (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty), change compatibility to Windows Vista (Service Pack 1). execute as admin

Do the same with FalloutLauncher, but change compatibility to Windows 7.

Hope it works for you.

Remember that Fallout 3 will always crash on occasion on newer systems no matter how many fixes you have.

So save often and don't overwrite saves, always save in a new slot.
(Helps prevent corrupt saves and crashes)

ok i will remember that thanks, i have CASM installed. so allways save on a new slot got it!

This problem arises when you play FO3 on multicore systems. I tried the changes to FALLOUT.ini listed above but it still crashed on interior spaces. I finally found a complete list of mods for multicore systems here:

This did the trick, so far no more lockups.
