Winterized T-51b power armor (how to return to "sim" version?)
Hey folks

I'm enjoying my run through the game, but I noticed some changes (assuming unofficial fallout 3 patch did this) in Anchorage. One of which is less weapons, such as the Gauss rifle, in the unlockable room after completing the simulation. The other is that the winterized power armor is no longer the sim, but the wasteland version. I would like to change that back, or that value for damage back because the reason I went through this quest again was the hope to 1. find the Gauss rifle again and 2. utilize this armor so I could play on a higher difficulty in a different playstyle then I used to do back in the day.

If this was the first time I'd played the game through and not the upteenth, I'd relate to the Wasteland version, but the sim version is what im used to since the DLC's original launch. The DR isn't high enough to upset the balance in a post broken steel/point lookout world either, you still need a smart build to take advantage of anything. Plus visually it's the outfit I want my character to look like in my headcanon. So I'd like to change it if people can offer detailed advice. NOTE: I dont want to change weapons or any other values in the game (the GR for example I wouldnt change, nor would I want to just "give myself" unearned ammo/caps etc).. I just want to return this armor back to its actual state and play the game as planned.

Thanks.

You can type in the console :
Player.additem 01001f09 1 (Armor)
player.additem 01001f08 1 (Helmet)

and for the gauss rifle :
player.additem 01003A04 1

and sell the others to a merchant if you want

Anything else I'd need to worry about being affected by using console command? Thanks for this, and yes I do want to fix that. I understand others may disagree, but I found that as a real reward for the DLC the first time through on both items accounts and felt it was intentional. Like I said, I have NO interest in say, getting a 1000 cells or whathaveyou for the Gauss Rifle via this console command, so it was often the cells in that room alone from Aiding the Outcasts for a long time in my playthroughs. Thus I used the gun as a distance safety measure in extreme moments only, and often had to justify it over another weapon in my pack given my low strength builds.

Anyways, thanks for helping with this. I'll try to remember this for my next part of my playthrough! I might try and find a station or something I can put the suit on for decoration or failing that, sell it.

No. If you only use this console command there is nothing to worry, it is safe.
It is not cheating, it is how the game was released officially. And it is your game, you play as you like. The only difference between the 2 armors is the durability, not that it makes a big difference.

I super appreciate your understanding of the situation. I recognize some people would not be. I'm gonna test it out now, but thank you so so much for your assistance and consideration in this. I will select it as answer!
