How to play without games for windows live?

You only need to install it you do not have to log in to get the game up and running. But if you want to play without it then you have to download a mod i don't know. You can download GFWL disabler however.

for some reason I actually have to log in to GFWL to start FO3. it wasn't like that before. I'll have a look, thanks

Since Microsoft closed GfWL four years ago, no, you don't have to login. The game just requires that the architecture be present, but you don't need to login, or provide a CD key, or anything else with it.

my fallout 3 does not start. gfwl loads (sometimes) and when it does load fallout 3 still won't launch, its telling me to log in.

Did you bother looking in the pinned thread on top of the discussions page at all... you can either download a program that disables games for windows life or get a mod to bypass it. its all in the pinned discussions....

I could never get the game to work on Win7, but when I moved to Win10 the game downloaded GfWL itself and has never had a problem.

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/1086/ Install Nexus mods for fallout 3 and download this mod using the manager and activate it in nexus launcher. Problem solved,it disables windows live and lets you mod the game further if you so desire. gl m8

All of the links in the thread work for me. You must have something wrong with your computer.

I don't know why Bethesda won't make an update to remove the GFWL and play the game without it.
Rockstar did it to Grand Theft Auto IV. Why can't Bethesda do it, both game came out in the same year.
