Sergeant RL-3 - most versatile companion?
I am so satisfied with this robot. It is seemingly indistructible, has unlimited ammo and carries tons of stuff for me... Now I got the chance to hire Charon instead. Is it worth to fire my robot and sign Charon's contract?

Due to a bug with Broken Steel the creature companions are almost invincible.

So if you want to replace RL3 with another indestructible companion hire Dogmeat or Fawkes.
Both have advantages and disavantages, you can always rehire a fired companion if you don't like the new one.

But you can use Charon if you like him. Just give him a good armor, weapon and some stimpaks, And he has no karma requirement if you want to fire him and hire him again later.

RL - 3 is good for the early to mid game but when you have broken Steele installed he doesn’t scale up as efficiently as some other companions.

Level 30 fawkes is the strongest Npc in the game.

Dog meat level 30 has the highest hp had really high damage and on top of that melee attacks faster than other companions.
(And he’s a free companion)
When broken Steele is installed the game is just: get dog meat = win the game.

Thank you for the tips. I actually had Dogmeat earlier but he disappeared at one point (probably a bug but he might as well have been killed in combat). I currently play an evil character so I guess Fawkes is not available due to my negative karma.
I will switch to Charon anyway to get some new vibes, too.

Bro I dont think he needs a better weapon. His shotty is pretty far fetched already.
