Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition

Fallout 3 mod textures not working
So, I was playing Fallout 3 (goty) and I noticed that the moded external textures were not working. Intead they take a sort of Papa Kahn armor texture. (which means they mimic the texure of the areas around them) So I got Archive Invalidation Invalidated and still, the textures were the same. This sems to bother me so if anyone could tell me a resolution, that would be great.

Cheers,

(If I could post a screenshot of my issue I would)

what texture mod/mods,did you use FOMM to install them or copy paste ? and FOMM Archive invalidation ?

You have to invalidate archives for the texture mods to work. This is easiest done through a mod manager.

The following mods I used were Classic midwestern power armor and Classic Enclave APA. I use the nexus mod manager (nmm) for all of my mods.

can't see anything that would cause a problem with those two mods

FOMM archive invalidation is the best way to get texture paths working properly, whenever you install new textures you have to remove and reapply Archive Invalidation

Also any chance of a pic ? did you try reinstalling them ?

Thanks, I'll try uninstalling and re-applying archive invalidation to see if it fixes the problem.

you could try and use Fraps to take a screenshot and post it on Imagure or what ever it's called but the ESP,ESM's etc look fine to me all the DDS files don't seem to conflict, not using FXAA or an ENB ?

Also older mods are made to work with FOMM newer mods use NMM,if your using NMM as Archive Invalidation that may be the problem and i suggest you switch, there's one on Nexus or use FOMM

Should I download the source code online or download the one on nexus? if so, do I manually download it or use the manager?

get the one from Nexus there both the same version, then manually d/l the mod file/files and activate it through FOMM

Start FOMM
Activate package Manager
add FOMOD ( the file you want to install )
activate the mod
sort your load order
apply Archive Invalidated,in the tools menu of FOMM

it may seem daunting but in my view it's the best MM to use with FO3
https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Installing_A_Mod_With_FOMM hope this helps

at the top you'll see Tools click on that and it drops down to a menu,at the bottom you'll see archive invalidation there

It should have 2 options apply or remove
