Game not recognizing Moriarty is dead

I killed Moriarty early in my playthrough by stealthily placing a grenade on him. No one caught me.

It's been quite a while and no one in Megaton talks as if he is dead; Nova is still in the saloon and the saloon is not referred to as "Gob's." No one gives the dialogue about not knowing who is in charge with both Moriarty and Lucas Simms dead. Bugged?

*BUMP* because this is weird. It's been days and days and days. I can't see that a stealth exploding pants kill would bug it, and Google does not help.

I don't think the NPCs are able to acknowledge the fact... that somebody ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ died.

They can when it's Moriarty.

Did his corpse disappear? How was Simms killed, by Burke? Is Power of the Atom active?

Corpse dissapeared after many days. Before it did I even picked it up and moved it right in to the bar for all to see.

Simms died from Burke; I don't shoot Burke's weapon because I like the Duster and Hat and early access to Chinese Assault Rifle.

Power of the Atom was resolved before any of that.


As of now, after months ingame, "Gob's" is finally written on the Saloon billboard, and Nova now makes mention of no longer being a hooker.

However, the dialogue you should get from some Megaton NPCs, like Manya for example, to the effect of "with both Simms and Moriarty dead bla bla no one's in chargae bla bla" still doesn't happen.

Same thing happen to me nova acknowledged it but gob didn’t so I’m not sure
