Installing Fallout Wanderers Edition
How am I supposed to do this? I have FOSE, I have vortex, I have a nexus account linked to the vortex. I'm trying to install FOMM because apparently FWE needs it because they havent made it vortex compatable, but now FOMM keeps crashing. And even if it wasn't crashing, I can't find this single "full package file" thing the author of FWE is talking about, only a part 1, 2, and a hotfix.

I want this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mod, what do I do?

If you really, really so badly want this mod then install it manually. You only need to download the 2 parts and the fix and extract the FOMOD.
Here is a video to explain how to do it if you don't already know. Fomod are only compressed files, there is a little unneeded script you can ignore. But be careful to place the files in the right place.

Use the Mod manager 2 mod manager it encompasses most of bethesdas games, it allows for quicker mod install. as for the full package there is no full package file. 1,2 and the hotfix are installed in that order. if fallout mod manager is crashing what is it saying when it does. if its saying that it cannot locate the fallout directory fix that by linking the correct directory to FOMM, if it continues to crash i would suggest watching a few youtube videos on how to install fallout mod manager, personally i don't use vortex at all so I apologize if i'm not helping much

So I think I finally got it, I'm fresh out of the vault and Im doing stuff in megaton, FWE seems like its working. If I installed part 1, 2 and the patch thing in that order and everything seems like its working then I guess I did it? I dont want FWE to randomly stop working halfway through my playthrough or something

FWE is garbage. It's so outdated, broken, and there's much better alternatives. Anyway, if you want to install it, without problems, then I suggest doing it manually. If you can't do that, then you need to get informed and educated. Modding is not a plug-n-play thingy. Enough said.
Well what better alternatives are there?

It is only because many players use FWE that some modders made their mods compatible, not because it is good.
It is the windows 10 of modding. Because lots of people use it developpers write for it. Ask Linux users what they think about Microsoft windows and why they are forced to use it. It is the same.

So would say ANY alternative is better.

If you don't want to spend time learning how to use the geck to make better mods yourself but only want new weapons, items, buildings or quests there are better mods adding them.
I use very few mods I did not create myself so I can't provide a listing but others can probably guide you.

Ive been told that its better to delete ALL FO3 content, and install FONV + FO3 brand new with a tale of two wastelands + project nevada, yeah or no?
Kvinden Jun 21, 2020 @ 4:51am
Yes, you can use tales of two wastelands if you own both the games. I don't use it myself because it is not compatible with my own mods but it is a good idea. They made a good job.
I don't know project nevada, it is a mod for fallout NV

For fallout 3 you can select some standalone mods adding quests and buildings like DCinteriors, a world of pain, trenton towers, revenants and so on... Just check they are all compatible with TTW
