Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition

Bug in zeta bridge mission. Any way to get past?
Here's a screenshot of where I'm at.

The girl isn't going to open the next door. This seems to be a common bug, but I need a way to get the game to progress.

I don't have any recent save from before the bug occurred, and since I've gone back in and out of the teleporter again my auto-save is also from after the bug occurred.

Is there a console command that will jump-start the girl to open the door? What are my options?

Never heard of this bug. Are you sure you haven't completed some kind of dialogue with the npc players?

I've talked to them all. Also, I had to kill the alien mechanics in the room to stop the guy in silver armour from fleeing. As long as there were any of them in the room (and they were also fleeing in fear), he would keep fleeing back to teleporter.

It looks like this part of the DLC bugs out for a lot of people. Recommendations are to reload a previous save, or try waiting some period of time, to use the console to unlock the door.

Do you know what the console command to unlock the door would be?

I just replayed through Zeta and this time the progression triggered - not right away, though, but after I left through a teleporter and then teleported back into the room.

You should be able to google a console command for teleporting. Especially since this seems to be a common glitch with that DLC. How can you not have a previous saved game, before entering this area? That seems odd.

Try waiting 24 hrs and see what that does.

I got through that part by replaying basically the entirely of the Zeta DLC.

I didn't have a recent pre-glitch save because I rely on quick-saving and auto-saves, and only make a manual save when I quit the game. Since I had been playing for a long time in that session, I didn't have a recent manual save to use. And the auto-save overwrites each time you load a new area, and since I had left the observation room via the teleporter and re-entered it to try to make the next sequence start, the auto-save was over-written with a state after the glitch started.

I did try waiting for long periods of time, including 24 hours, but that didn't fix it.

Anyway, I replayed basically the entire ship and got back to the observation room, and this time I was able to get through.

FYI: You should turn off all three auto saves and not do quick saves. Saving this way will end up corrupting your saved game files. True story...

You should do manual saves always. IE: Hit the esc key and make a new save. This is likey what led to your glitch.

If you use mods... try using Simple Saves, or CASM. These mods will help prevent corrupt saved game files. Trust me on this.

Now you know. ^^

i found a solution, but don't know how this will work for steam edition as i did it on epic - i start verifying files there and then i play the game and load the save i had near the broken teleporter - suddenly all characters teleport, woohooo

Necroing but since no one has said it, in the wiki page for mothership zeta bugs it says that you can "disable" the door

Open the console> Click on the door (on the top of the screen it will say "door" and its id when its correctly selected> Type disable> Enter> Door does not exist and everyone will walk to the next teleporter because Sally thought the door was already open
