Thanks again. oscar20645
It doesn't overwrite game files like you would when manually installing mods or while using FOMM or NMM and also checks the data structure is correct.
Before I found this, I went almost nuts and nearly bit my desk over getting this DARNed mod to run properly.
I followed Gopher's mod tutorial on youtube, and this was the only point where I deviated from his path, since those old bethesda links are long dead and the stuff you find elsewhere on the interwebz is either in 7z or FOMOD, but none worked for me.
I agree with maxswr, what he said is the only way I am now able to get the game to start without crashing doing a new install with darnUI. My old copies of his files, my archive copies of the "dui_f3a11.zip" & "dui_f3a11_HF.7z" just would not work. I edited the fallout.ini file in my games folder 10 times to make sure it was done correctly. Installed and reinstalled the 2 files without success; in the past I have played F03 with darnUI thousands of hours, probably reinstalling the game via steam 3 times as I upgraded operating systems. Just saying. Today I only just now got game to load without crashing by using the version maxswr found. So far it is very good. TY max
1 year after and i can confirm this still works, thank you so much!
And after 2 years can confirm that THIS is STILL the only solution I can find that worked for me.
Thank you SO MUCH

Gopher used this in his FNV mod tutorial, and it has even gotten some updating since. Didn't need any ini editing nor the old -now defunct- Font Dummy Mod in FNV to make it work. Used the simple Community NMM, and it installed without a hitch.
I dunno if this works for FO3 as flawlessly, but since it's TTW I guess...
