Huh. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to swap out or alter the settings on the router I'm using, various IRL problems. Do you know what it was about your router that was the issue?
Not even sure how a 'router problem' can affect a singleplayer game...
Nope, just the plain old GOTY edition.
This has happened on my original physical discs and steam version. Problem is FO3 is like most other Bethesda games - buggy. There may or may not be stability mods. I never looked for any.
Only solution to recover from a freeze is to Control+alt+delete and then hit restart.
Save often when out in the world.
You can try to load a codec pack. it should greatly help.
And don't forget to apply the fixes mentionned in the pinned thread, specially the 3GB patch
Okay, I think the multicore fix of altering the fallout.ini helped, I did what the guide said and haven't had any crashes so far. Hopefully this is permanent fix! Thanks for the help everyone.
