Dogmeat; nearly unkillable?
Did I read somewhere that as you level Dogmeat gets a stupid amount of HP to the point of being [nearly] unkillable?

Asking because if that is so I might not be taking him.... It would feel too gamey to me.

I'm level 22 and I've had him die a couple of times, but then I'm playing Tale of Two Wastelands. I've heard that taking the puppies perk makes him significantly tougher though the description doesn't mention it.

I believe that his health increase came with the Broken Steel DLC, so before that he was much squishier. Also the same occurred with Fawkes I believe

Level 22 in the brotherhood citadel.

I tried to kill Dogmeat and he killed everyone except the unkillable npcs before he died.

The only unkillable follower I know of is Fawkes

yeah he can die, I had him die to the most powerful guns like missiles or plasma rifles, he is useful as a tank, distracting your target so you can shoot them in the head, its one of the smartest companions i've seen in a bethesda game 'till now
