They revived this bankrupt franchise in full 3D.
It’s been a while but believe you just need to select a item in your inventory and then press a number key (1-9) to assign that item to that number.
The real reason people hate Fallout 3 is because of a hate for Bethesda. Way back in 1997, Interplay and Black Isle Studios were the original founders of Fallout. However, despite Fallout 1 and 2 selling 500,000 copies, it wasn't enough to save the company from going bankrupt. Eventually Interplay got purchased by another company after the release of Fallout: Tactics who wanted to make another Fallout game to make money: Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, which is hilariously terrible. Interplay was about to release Fallout: Van Buren, The Original Fallout 3, which was about 90% complete before the studio got shut down. The company that purchased Interplay wanted to focus their resources on Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel 2, which was canceled due to the low sales of the first game. Due to the poor mismanagement of the company, Interplay was forced to sell their Intellectual property, Fallout, and Bethesda purchased the rights in 2004. Basically, Fallout 3 was going to happen, but due to mismanagement of a company that canceled one project, and lack of money to finish another project, Fallout 3 never happened; it became a completely different game. So a lot of fans see it that they were promised something that was stolen at the last minute and replaced with something they didn't want and that Bethesda doesn't deserve the rights for a IP they don't know how to handle properly.
That video in particular is a truly horrendous embarrassment for the fandom.
The video is not about "fanboyism" of the fallout series; it's a critique on how Fallout 3 is a bad "RPG" and not necessarity a bad game. The title does fit his narrative, but it's still click bait.
As much as it sound ridiculous, I watched the whole video to see how ridiculous his claims were, but, at the end, I can agree with him with certain points. I actually recommend watching the video if you have time; it can widen your insight on the matter and it's entertaining to say the least.
In my opinion, while I can agree that Fallout 3 is mediocre in the story department, Fallout 3 is an amazing game; I've spent so many hours on it.
