Something strange happened in vault 106
I've been there lots of times. However, this time I was surprised to find all of the Insane Survivors wielding Hand Saws (not to confuse them with Chain saws). They always had used regular stuff, baseball bats, knives, pipes, etc. The Hand Saws were interesting. 13 attack (with my current 21 melee skill), 5 weight and 200 caps value each. All were in pristine condition, and I collected 16.

I haven't been able to find the Hand Saw anywhere, it isn't listed in Fallout Wiki, and I can't find it in google. It has the same animation and sounds as the Chinese sword, and in the pipboy the action figure is the same as for the Chinese sword. It is very nicely done, even better than the saw that appears as junk in Fallout 4.

Now does anyone know where the heck did this come from? I would imagine one of my mods, but I haven't installed new mods for quite a while, and besides I have been in vault 106 before with the same mods. Perhaps an easter egg? I did do something different this time in vault 106, I decided that since the insanes are easy opponents I would save ammo and do the whole dungeon using spiked knuckles.

I have found another unusual item. A grenade called the Bo-bomb, it is very powerful and obviously based on Super Mario Bros. I only found it once and haven't seen another since. At least for this I found a short you tube video, but no info and not mentioned in the wiki or elsewhere.

Any light you can give on these items would be very welcome.

Either you're using a mod or you are lying for attention.

No, I can't explain it myself and that's why I'm asking. Unfortunately I have FO3 on a laptop that usually doesn't have internet connection, but I will connect it on the weekend and then I can upload some pics.
Regarding the Bob-omb, here's the video. The only reference I have found. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Udq-1EsOhaw

+Steven Applebaum I'm pretty sure the EVE- energy visuals enhanced mod adds it alongside other easter egg items , apparently the creator of the mod thought fallout 3 lacke what every other fallout game had: funny weapons and cameos so he added a few to compensate that .

Quoted from Youtube. On a video published in 2014. Now go away.

Well, thanks for the answer, I guess. No need to be so pushy. I do have EVE, but hadn't found the saws until now.

False? Come on. I met something I didn't know, I investigated it (googled it etc.) didn't find an answer so I came here. What's false about that? You're sick bro. Or the self-appointed forum nazi perhaps.

Nowhere in the EVE mod description does it mention that it includes easter eggs, let alone melee weapons. There is no way I could know where these things came from. For that matter, it doesn't mention Bobomb either. I've had EVE for quite a while and I have done vault 106 before WITH EVE installed, and never met this behavior. So it was legit for me to ask, especially since I searched for it in google, you tube etc. before posting. For that matter, I haven't found confirmation yet that the Hand Saws come from EVE mod.

And ultimately what is it to you? If you didn't like my post just ignore it. No need to make silly accusations "oh you're false" Oh you're stupid" "these forums aren't for you to write whatever". Who are you to say that? Not a moderator. This is harassment.

Thanks, I had seen this mod but that is only a modder's resource, I think and anyway I don't have it. However, I have found indirect references that the weapons I have encountered are indeed part of E.V.E. and that settles my query.

It's starting to get sad now. Such a profound lack of social skills, no wonder they're seeing conspiracies and deception where there is clearly none. I'm willing to bet that if this kid behaves the same offline, they must be very lonely. So desperate for attention/interaction that even negative is better than none.

I'm curios as to the cause now though. Poor upbringing(parents absent or equaly lacking in social skills)? Neurological, pshycological or some form of mental illness? Traumatic event in developmental years? Low selfesteem?

I already told him in the very first reply. He and his boyfriends kept it going, so I decided to have fun with it.
