I can't get out of Rivet City

Certain doors that lead to the outside of Rivet City make my game crash. I am trapped inside. 10/10.

Hopefully it is not a general problem of loading any outdoors area. Maybe try to cheat a teleport?
teleport to an NPC, maybe someone in Megaton - perhaps Wadsworth?

Well this has not ever happened in all of my 60-70 hours of gaming. Why would it happen now?
