Not killing/reporting Mr.Burke(at least temporarily) but disarming the bomb - what happens?

Say I want to get hit by murderous squad, to get hands on their stuff, will I have chance to kill Burke afterwards? Or will he disappear?
I have not particularly found how that thing behaves in the fallout wiki...
